Hello. My name is Rene, and I am an at-large portrait artist. My primary medium of interest is oil pastel, as it allows for rich color, high quality detail, and long lasting results. I can and have, however, just as easily perform in such mediums as chalk pastel, pencil, paints, and charcoal.
My purpose of beginning this blog is to develop a site where potential customers can have a look at my previous work, find my contact information, and where satisfied customers can come back to or direct their friends to for quality portraits and other customized artwork. While I am offering my portrait services on a national scale (being primarily internet based), I am also open to the endeavor of mural painting, though currently that is restricted to the mid-Atlantic region and northeast Tennessee. Soon I will post further information about the sort of supplies and papers I use, along with a general idea of project costs. It seems to me that it is always a nuisance in this kind of work to ever actually get an estimate on personalized art. While it is difficult to put a price on one's quality and quantity of time invested in making art, if I can't bridge the gap I at least want to make it within waving distance!
